Usage Note 32944: The log message seen as the result of using the ERRORS= option is a warning message in SAS® 9.2
Starting with SAS 9.2 TS2M0, the message that notifies you when the limit set by the ERRORS= option has been reached is produced as a warning message. In prior releases of SAS®, this message was produced as an error messasge.
This was changed to a warning because it is not an error, and no return code occurs indicating an error. The ERRORS= system option is used to limit the number of messages produced by situations such as invalid data notes, invalid argument to function notes, and divide by zero notes. It is produced as a warning message instead of a note because it is important to know when problems such as invalid data or division by zero occur. If the NONOTES system option were to be specified, you would not be aware that a problem occurred. Therefore, the limit set by the ERRORS= option has been reached is produced as a warning.
For further information about the ERRORS=0 option and changes made beginning with SAS® Version 8, see Usage Note 3767, "OPTIONS ERRORS=0 produces LIMIT SET message."
For further information about the ERRORS= option and changes made beginning with SAS® 9.1, see Usage Note 14598, "LIMIT SET message produced with OPTIONS ERRORS=0."
